Month: August 2017

LTC is when we take our listener comments and let them “lead the conversation”.  So, we thank you for all of your feedback this week and for giving us plenty to talk about.  Dwija and her husband’s sacrifices are a beautiful witness to all of us, regardless of our state in life.  God is calling us all to sacrifice during our everyday life and get out of our comfort zones so that we can grow in sanctity.  Be encouraged sweet ladies, we are all on a journey and we are on it together and by God’s Grace, we will thrive. Let us take every moment of desolation and ask the Lord, “where are you in this moment?”.

  • “destines them to eternity. He therefore, I believe, wants them to attend chiefly to two things, to eternity itself, and to that point of time, which they call the Present. For the Present is the point at which time touches eternity. Of the present moment, and of it only, humans have an experience analogous to the experience which [God] has of reality as a whole; in it alone freedom and actuality are offered them. He would therefore have them continually concerned either with eternity or with the Present–either meditating on their eternal union with, or separation from, Himself, or else obeying the present voice of conscience, bearing the present cross, receiving the present grace, giving thanks for the present pleasure.” –CS Lewis

Scripture –

23 And Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:23-26

If you would like to hear how in the world a Hare Krishna grows up to be a Catholic homeschooling momma of 7 beautiful children on a farm in Michigan, then you need to check in this week for our summer series.  Dwija B0robia share with us about her life in a very real way giving all of us in the trenches the reminder that no one’s life is picture perfect nor even easy.  We all have our strengths and our weaknesses, but without Christ, none of it is even possible.  Moving from self reliance to God reliance is pivotal to our journey in happiness. We hope you enjoy this sweet conversation we were so privileged to have with @houseunseen

Our Guest:

Call to Action –

Let’s see if we can focus on and pray for awareness in areas where we tend to be self reliant rather than God reliant. And let us ask the Holy Spirit to give us a teachable spirit so that we can be reliant on God and being willing to let go of any spiritual pride.

Scripture –

And so, from the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 to lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us[b] to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”       Colossians 1:9-12

Saint Quote

May the strength of God pilot us, may the wisdom of God instruct us, may the hand of God protect us, and may the Word of God direct us.” – St. Patrick
